For the Rexburg pop-up shop, I have been gathering feedback from vendors to see what they could use more of in future events. We have done research and learned that many vendors and small business owners in the area want to learn how to better advertise for their business. Because of that, I spent a few hours this week helping to come up with an event that would allow us to better our advertising and help vendors as well.
I’m excited for this event because I’ll be able to share what I’ve learned through my school and my own business and also learn from other successful business owners in the area. We really hope this will help the community members in the area to feel more supported by each other and to ask each other for help when need be.
This week, I have also outlined our roles and responsibilities as members of the planning team and we have worked on new ideas that the team, including future students, can implement in order for the event experience to run smoother and everyone will have a better idea of what they can do to help. This includes new advertising efforts, graphic design needs, and Public Relations ideas. This outline also helps us to figure out where to expand the Pop Up Shop in other ways that we haven’t explored much yet, like maybe doing Radio ads in the future, for example.
For these past few weeks, I feel like we’ve really paved the way for Rexburg Pop-Up Shop to be more productive in the future and to help our community to feel supported. The small businesses in the area help make the community as unique as it is so we like to promote that feeling wherever we can.
